3-D-Ego-Shooter on the way: Drone Kill

Not comparable

I’m only asking people to be a bit more open-minded and step outside their comfort zone a little.

It is because it is and has been unethical in numerous ways. That is why people raise issues.

Gaslighting bosses:

No return on investment:

Impact on our brains:

Climate impact:

Trauma due to content moderation:

Intellectual property theft:

Job loss in creative sector

The agents produce dangerous, insecure and illegible code.

:pushpin:

Now you are assuming that we aren’t and interpreting our actions, and accusing us of close-mindedness, now that is rude

Fair enough. I’m not saying that the whole thing doesn’t cause problems, but if we followed that logic, we would have to go back to living in caves. Do you own a mobile phone or a computer? I could also post countless links about the impacts and problems that have arisen from these technologies.

My apologies. I really didn’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings here.

It’s at the very least a cost/benefit issue.

Even though it sucks that we’re not taxing the wealthy to help the kids in the cobalt mines, at least a profit is being made off of you buying your phone.

The lies around AI are simply unfair and staggering. Starting with the name AI being stated as fact not being rooted in any credible form of science.

I would suggest considering why you assume we are close-minded instead of just having valid reasons and having evaluated things. A lot of pro “AI” people tend to insist that the other side are ignorant or close minded etc.

Maybe we can leave it at that: I don’t think we are actually that far apart in our views. I also don’t believe that everything about this is positive or without problems.

Okay, but this discussion didn’t completely get out of hand because of me. My point is about the technology itself, regardless of whether you call it artificial intelligence or something else. I don’t even believe that it has much to do with intelligence in the first place. We are in a programming forum, and we all know that, at the end of the day, it is still just ones and zeros.

I’m also not one of those AI advocates who believe that AI can solve everything. But if we put all the ideological discussions aside for a moment, AI is a powerful tool that can improve my workflow and, as a result, help me pay my bills faster.

I didn’t create these complicated dependencies and problems in the world myself.

Why? Do you not see how saying “it pays my bills why should I care about the impact?”

I would suggest to read this one:

and would watch this video (link from the text above)

I don’t think you’re to blame. Please do not interpret my responses as discussion.

But please also understand that I was just trying to answer your questions as to why - in a general sense - people respond the way they do.

This may seem like discussion, but I’m only angry with grifting billionaires. The rest of us are all victims.

Please note the conversation got on this track because you asked why people weren’t interacting with this post

Thank you very much for your replies. I should probably think about this more carefully.

I enjoyed the read and view, even though I have a slightly different opinion on these things. Thanks for the input.

Sorry, I messed it up @conz3d
