50% of my multimesh instances are shaded darker

Question

Why is my multimesh instances darkened on half but look fine on the other side of the mesh where i populated them?

The lighting is directional, so nothing’s cutting that off. If I increase the subdivisions of the mesh/plane it’s populating, it’s less 50/50 dark or normal, but still shows some scattered items looking sort of unshaded.
