Hello everyone, I’ve only been learning how to use Godot 4.7 for a few hours, so my experience with it is still very limited. I’m much more familiar with RPG Maker MZ. Right now, I’m having a really hard time creating an autotile in Godot, and I was wondering if someone could please guide me through it. I try 2 png to make tileset: The first one is the A1 section from an old tileset that I used in RPG Maker MZ. The second one is a file that I converted using a GitHub tool to make it more suitable for Godot. I’m not even sure if I converted it correctly, but I’ve been completely stuck with autotiles, so I’ve been trying all sorts of things. What I’d really like to know is: how can I set this up so that when I paint a river, the riverbank automatically appears around it? I’ve watched some YouTube tutorials about setting up terrains, and I’ve tried following them, but the results were pretty terrible. Could someone please show me how I should set this up, or point me in the right direction? Thank you so much for your help!
There is good Youtube tutorials on Godot’s tiling and the basics are all in the documentation.
Why was it not suiting Godot in the first place?
Which tool did you use exactly?
It can help creating a separate project and following some tutorials until one understands the concepts better. Only then starting to apply it to your current project.
By the looks of it you selected the river as terrain, can that be? The way I understand terrain, it should be the grass patches and not the water, but I might not understand what you are trying to accomplish here.
