Animation plays but character does not rotate

I have a Character3D player which contains the collision shapes and a player skin which contains model, the animation player and the the animation tree. the state machine and all of the animations play fine - except for one. I have a melee attack animation where the character does a 360 degree spin (think roundhouse kick). When this animation plays, the arms and legs move correctly but the character does not rotate. I have searched for hours and have found nothing related to this.
