Assigning elements to array of arrays in the editor

Question

I defined an array of array of resource-type in the code. I want to assign resources to its elements in the editor. If there is a single array layer, I can do it without any problem. But if there is a nested array structure, assigning elements is not possible.

Here is my code:

public partial class ModuleManager : Node
{
	// ...

	// This one can be initialized in the editor
	[Export] public Godot.Collections.Array<ModuleDefinition> ModuleDefinitions;

	// This one can't
	[Export] public Godot.Collections.Array<Godot.Collections.Array<ModuleDefinition>> ModuleTiers;

	// ...
}

This is a screen shot:

Am I doing something wrong or is it indeed not possible?

I’m not quite sure if I understand your example, but as far as I know nested types is a commonly debated and longed-for feature. In GDScript nested types constantly cause issues if one of the types is more explicit than the other so that it is just more practical to keep types to one single layer – at least from my coding experience so far.

Here is a Godot proposal on Github about nested types and dictionaries, which might be related to your issue.
