BGM exported to web doesn't loop

v4.8.dev1.official [ebbf577a0]

Music loops in Editor, and in Windows export. It plays in Web export, but stops at end, without looping. It’s an ‘ogg’ file. Sound is fine; it plays well, but no loop. Any solution..?

I have no idea if this will help but for my game music i use wav file
on web export (godot 4.7 stable)her is a conwerter: OGG to WAV Converter - FreeConvert.com
if this dose not work check the import settings i think you kan import it as a loop.
Oh and check your browser setting for sound. on fire fox you can right click the tap and mute it maybe you tab is muted?

Edit: dont forget to mark my post as solution.
Edit2: maybe switch to 4.7

Thanks for the reply. The music itself plays correctly, and loops correctly in both the Editor when running the Project, and the Windows export. The Web export plays, so I hear the music, but it doesn’t loop at the end of the file. The same Project settings for Windows and Web export, so I don’t think it’s the ‘ogg’ import that’s the issue. I’ll try a ‘wav’ version to see if it loops when exported and report back…

Edit : Well, it worked; the ‘wav’ file loops correctly for the ‘web’ version. Thanks for the suggestion; I’ll set your reply as the Solution. Have a great day.

How dit you looped the bgm?
Dit you set it to loop and auto start in the audioplayer?
Is this an engine problem?
BTW i dit not expect it tho work ider :rofl::rofl:

I did two things; which was the culprit I can’t say (I’d have to publish again with other variants to find out, which I won’t be doing for a while, I suspect…)…
1 - I used a ‘wav’ version of the bgm file…
2 - I re-imported the bgm file into the scene…
… It matters little, now, but I’ll know, next time I have a ‘web’ version of whatever to at least check this. It’s not that easy to check, as one has to listen through the whole music to find out if it loops or not. Luckily the music is pleasant (it should be; I composed it..!).
The issue was resolved, anyway, and thanks to your suggestions, so thanks again, and…
Have a wonderful day.

(Here’s a link to the Project concerned, submitted to the Kenney Game Jam, 2026, where one may hear the bgm in question. One may equalling play the game too, of course..! Enjoy..?)
itch.io : Scale Kenney Castle …

I love the music!
But ther is a problem BC my fullscreen is not working (i can see my tabs and task bar).

can you plese try to enable this in the itch draft of the project?

grafik
Most jams like GMTK alow to change the draft (just check if it is against the rules).
Oh and when i exit mouse lock i cant enter it again (in browser)

Edit: for the input map just add the arrow key too bc most games have bothe wasd and arrow keys : )

Dit you used lmms for the music?
The music is amazing!

I can’t see anywhere to add such a button, but I think it should respond to a ‘click’ to become full-screen. There is no ‘draft’ version.
(… and ‘No, I’ve never used AI for anything, ever..!’ (I’m old, and a musician, so I only use stuff I’ve learned to ‘master’ over all of these decades, for better or worse. I’m solely to blame…).

lmms a a music tool made by linux distro!
and on my browser it wont turn to full screen, or to be more precise i can see my task bar and my tabs whyle playing and i cant rotate the character with my mouse.
Lock how i made this at my browser game: Go to Bed Bat (Jam Version) by Spaghetti coder

Please take into account that, old as I am (I’ll be 76, next month…), this is my first Game Jam, and it has all been a rush job, getting it out at all. Given another few weeks I may (but only ‘may’..!) have been able to improve several aspects of the Project, but, as it is, I’m pleased that it even exists, warts’n’all..! Sorry for the imperfections; I’ll try to do better next time, if I’m still able.

This is totaly fine i just want to help to improve the game a bit
and help with the game jam. Most people will not download the game so it is important to get the browser version to work.
PS: Just go tho the itch page of your project click her on edit game

and her to activate full full screen
grafik
and test if it woks now : )

I don’t have such a button, and couldn’t test it anyway, as I see it full-screen when I run it from the ‘itch.io’ page. Sorry. :frowning:

I think you are on the submission page.
Click on to your acount and on your project to get the buton.
and now click on “edit game”
grafik

I hope this helps write back if so : )

I played the download version of the game and playe until i found the guy but wher do i can get out of the castle i dit not saw something to get out on the map?

No, there is no such button, sorry.

Well done; the game ends once you get the Mage back to the starting point, automatically. You have to remember where you started from (look at the Map before venturing out..?). If you play again, be aware that the Mage hides in a random, different spot each time.

Okay nice.
i like the game play/all kind of mazes
Edit: btw how do you make the music

Making music..? There are many variations, depending on the genre required. I play drums (I’m a drummer, or rather ‘was’, before retirement…), and guitar, bass, and some keys. I record at home, into Reaper on my PC. For the more orchestral compositions, I have many Vst instrument for Reaper, and play them, using MIDI signals, with a piano keyboard. So, it varies, along with the style I’m looking for. I participate on some music forums; for one I composed for many years for a monthly Composition Challenge, whereby the previous winner provided a picture or photo as inspiration for the next month’s Challenge. The results, from all of the participants, was extremely varied. The theme in the game is part of a complete, twenty minute suite I composed and played a few years ago now. I found it to fit the mood I wanted to portray for the castle puzzle; not too stressful, not too soporific, and bearable upon repetition.
Thanks for the kind remarks.

WOW this is just insane!
You are like a profesional composer.
