Botany Earth | Development

I have been busy actually making progress on a game I really enjoy. I want to be consistent and wanted to share my progress.

This will be an adventure game where you play as a botanist exploring a huge cave. Combining different plants and water you can brew tonics that provide be abilities.

If you play, don’t expect much yet lol but the crafting system is working and abilities can be brewed, if you pay attention to the subtle hints on the cave wall.

I’ve been heads down lately making real progress on the game. I’m genuinely excited about it, and I want to stay consistent by sharing updates as I go.

The crafting system is now up and running, and abilities can already be created if you pay attention to the subtle clues hidden along the cave walls. The visuals are coming together. Remember, link is up above if you want to try it out.

If you decide to try it out, keep your expectations modest for now — it’s still early — but this is the first version that really feels like the core idea is starting to work.

Alright, I was in a poetic and reflective mood this morning and came up with this as my game description. Ultimately I hope to create this experience in the game. Oh I also changed the name to “Botany Earth”

”Botany Earth is a game about exploration and mystery. Deep in the Earth you discover meaning; through loneliness you find inner strength.

Alone, the Earth speaks to those who listen.”

Let me know your thoughts?

So had a huge update today. I finally figured out this stupid bug that was keeping my character stuck to the wall when he jumped on it…

I also implemented a marker 2D combined with a canvas modulate the scene the further the player gets away from the entrance of the cave… that’s pretty cool. Until the player will have to use a torch he finds and then once that torch runs out he will fall deep into the cave and that’s where most the game will take place.

Again, games available to play right now, it’s finally beginning to feel better as far as mechanics go. I’d love to hear any feedbacks if anyone actually gets to play it lol :joy:
