My name is Kareem and I’m developing a 2D platformer in Godot. I’m currently implementing a boss fight inspired by the Neo Green Hill Zone boss from Sonic Advance and I want the boss attack to match Neo Green Hill Zone exactly. I’m looking for professional help to design and implement the boss attack system, arena locking, and related AI (finite state machine, telegraphed attacks, recovery windows, and pattern cycling.
I’m basing the project on this tutorial playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLCcur7_Y2zTdKIQ2oM2Ec8MEfeBnAbEXT
Specifically I’d like help with:
-
Designing attack patterns that feel fast but fair (dash, projectile, drop hazards).
-
Implementing a robust FSM for the boss and recovery/invulnerability frames.
-
Arena locking and stage hazards integration.
-
Estimating time and cost for a prototype or full implementation.
I can share a short design doc, sprites, and a demo scene if that helps. Could you please let me know your availability, typical rates, and next steps to discuss scope and timeline?
