Development on Quest 3

Godot Version

4.3

Question

I succesfully installed Godot 4.3 on my Quest 3 VR headset. I can develop Godot projects on my Quest, without PC. Flatscreen projects run fine. But I cannot start my VR projects in VR mode - Godot IDE tells that VR headset is not connected. Is it possible to fix this problem? It will makes Godot the great solution that pemits to develop VR apps right in the VR headset. It will attract to godot the certain part Unity/UE VR developers. I am Unity VR developer - but the ability to work on my VR projects on my Quest with bluetooth keyboard encouraged me to try Godot Engine.

That’s a pity. It’s the “last inch” for Godot to become the VR tool for VR developers…

That is really impressive that you got it working on the headset. I did not know that you could do that. I will have to check it out. Have you tried just exporting the APK and install installing it using one of the 3rd partyinstaller applications? It isn’t nearly as convenient as hitting the play button in Godot but it might work.

This was just released today. It sounds like it might be what you’re looking for.

Great! Just installed Godot 4.4 from Meta Store. It imported the simple VR project I made couple of weeks ago on my Quest 3 with Godot 4.3 I installed from the site. And now my project runs in VR! Great job, Godot team! Definitely I’ll return to Godot learninig
