Do you know this game?

Game was released in 2001, and I’m still under impression how well it delivered when I played it back in the days.

What it standing out for me from developing point the behaviours of NPC you need to avoid them to set off alarm.

Has a bit Thief vibes – Thief I from 1998 (image below), Thief II from 2000. I loved the mechanic of water arrows in thief which let the player turn off light in order to stay hidden. Was very fun back then. Otherwise the screenshot and the date does not ring a bell for me.

Similar but it’s Wolfenstein Return to the Castle

In Germany in the 2000s every little boy wanted to play Wolfenstein, but only the cool kids had it on their PCs – I sadly wasn’t one of the cool kids.

Since the game featured Nazi insignia there was a censored version intended for the German market. I think earlier games of the series were even banned, if I recall correctly. Some people were playing the original version even in Germany and who could blame them. The games are not really known for siding with the Nazis.

It’s very cool game, and I mean Nazis were in many movies, games, but Wolfenstein really nailed it with atmosphere for me.

The later Wolfenstein games are too advanced for me, this was just cool enough to keep me figuring out how to get through level without cheats  .

Someone made repository with assets - wolfenstein-legacy / rtcw-assets · GitLab be cool to see it in Godot, but first time ever I see .md3 format.

Looks like there is quite few modern games which lost sense some of the qualities from older titles.
