In the game I am developing, I need to display two menus on screen: one in an alien language and the other translated. The states of these two menus must be identical: if a button has focus in one, its counterpart in the other must appear to have focus. I think I’ve found a way to do it for the pressed state, but the “focused” style still elude me. Is there anyway to force the apparent state of a button? Or should I develop a fake button from scratch?
It depends a bit on how your button is set up. If you have a stylebox on it you can set the stylebox to whichever state you want, including focused.
Instead of making the fake button you mentioned, I would make a “real” button that extends your current button script. Just add an export variable for the fake button, and have the real button change the appearance of it based on what happens in the real button. That should be easier than creating a fake button that needs to track the real buttons and be synced with them.
