Feather the edge of a Polygon2D

Is there a way to feather the edge of a Polygon2d that has a repeated image texture? I would like the texture close to the outer edge of the polygon to fade out (have reduced alpha). I tried to blend it using “blend mode” with an identical polygon that has a radial blur texture, but I can’t seem to get that working.

I would like to place a textured object on top of a larger textured polygon, and have the transition from one texture to the other be smooth.

The polygon could be quite large. I am working in 2D, and the solution doesn’t necessarily have to be for the Polygon2D object. But I am working with irregular shapes.
