Seeing other user sharing their current progress, I’ve decided to share mine with what I currently have.
I’m currently working on the “Make it good” phase and adding a more “Final UI” so I can have proper visuals.
I currently have:
A Building placement system - Almost fully working, canceling building is still a bit clunky
A Unit logic+movement - With 3 factions (Stats are still placeholder value)
An Ability system for the units - which are all working (Placeholder stat value)
An Upgrade system - which is affecting the final stat value - Independant form other building copies
A Stage scaling for enemy stats - Each stage increased their final stats value - which is not affecting the “Player”
An Easy AI - Building spawners in order, in a circle
A Building zone limitation - Seperated for player an Enemy
A working meta progression system - With currency, rewarded at the end of a run. Which scales depending on how far the user went (Bonus if the run is succesful)
A save/load run loadout
A Boon Rogue-like system during the run (Still missing about 20+ boons)
I have almost the full game done in terms of mechanics, still fixing things as I move foward.
I’m concern with the SFX, VFX, Animation and Character visuals.
I started working on it actively in early November and my plan was to have a finished project by next years (Meaning November 2026)
For quick context for why I want it finished quickly: I lost my job at that time and since QA seem like a dead job, I decided to dedicate 50% of my day Lookng for job oppotunities and 50% on my game.
Why I’m concern is that I have quite a bit of Units, Buildings and VFX. My self-planned deadline is creeping it all the more closer each passing days.
Time will tell if I can make it in time or if my project will be put into the backburner/week-end hobby for the next few years.
