Gamebrain searches for a coding partner

Hi everyone,

as a Gamebrain with a detailed concept for a beautiful and smart 2d Godot driven phone game I search for my perfect match, a skilled and fast foreward Coder to build a two man army to conquer the App Stores. I have a detailed plan, even a prototype, but I am not able to develop a game all alone. I search for a 50/50 partner. This project might take two months to finish, there are other ideas in the pipeline.

I hope, I’m not off topic. Thanks, have a nice weekend soon

Just like with many other requests of similar calibre, please give us more info.

What’s your portfolio?
What games have you made before?
Which fields are you good at?
How much are you willing to pay?

We have nothing to go off of here sadly.

It is genuinely difficult to find this kind of partnership. It is like finding a good friend. Yes you meet lots of people, but only a very few become actual good friends.

A working partnership is even harder! And you cannot just launch into that either, you need agreed expectations, exit plans if one wants to leave, or if the other is not doing their part or enough. You need to set out expectations and responsibilities to avoid silly arguments. And with a 50/50 split what to do when there is a disagreement. And once money is involved you definitely need to start writing things down and signing agreements!

It is a big ask. Good luck.

My only solution to how this might work is to join a game jam team or two, or three. Eventually you will meet someone that you really get on with, or work well with that compliments your skills. Try a game jam with just them and if it still goes well, then that would be a good time to suggest making a real game together and discuss that. If the first game goes well, try a second. If that goes well you might have a business partner to formalise it a bit more with.

Again, good luck. It might turn out your neighbour is the perfect partner! Who knows.

Lol. Or two years!
