Welcome to the forums. Always happy to see a new coder that is eager to learn.

Thing is “horror game” is a bit too big a subject to get help on. You’ll likely get more, and better responses if you ask specific questions.

My advice is to just start creating your game. When you run into something you can’t figure out, come here and ask how to fix the problem. Having code to share helps, as it lets people see what you are doing and try it for themselves.

One last bit of advice - posting real life information, like your name, on the internet is unwise. Think of it like being a superhero - having a secret identity helps protect you from the bad guys.

I look forward to seeing what you create

Horror game?
You can find tutorials on YouTube, and if you got stuck in something or can’t understand what to do just ask the forum!

(Since you are only 8,I would recommend to make the game with your parents cause,It’s horror! I was jumped sacred by testing a jumpscare in my own game Lol)
Have fun developing!

The folks here are mostly people developing their own games, so you probably won’t find many volunteers to do the work for you. What you will find here is a bunch of people who are happy to help you learn and solve the problems you run into when building the game yourself.

I’d suggest starting with the Godot “my first game” tutorials and working up from there.

A lot of what makes a game “horror” or “fantasy” (or…) is the visuals and the sound. If you have (for example) a fighting game but you replace all the punching and yelling with handshakes and back pats and compliments, and make it so the “enemies” go from looking unhappy to happy and relaxed when they’re “defeated”, the game plays exactly the same way, but it feels very different.

It still takes just as much skill to play, and it’s exactly the same amount of fun, but people would describe the two games as being totally different genres.

So, I’d say learn to make a game first, then think about how to make that fit the theme you want.

I think the best way to learn Godot is to FOLLOW a few tutorials on 2d and 3d games in Godot, then using the project you created from the tutorial, change some things, make a new level, change the art, or just some variables and see what happens.

Next, get a starter pack, maybe from Kenney, and try to make something from it, maybe a parkour map, or a simple FPS game, do that a few times, then when you feel comfortable.

Then try to make something yourself, without a tutorial.

Thars how i got into godot, Also be carful puting your name and age on a public site. I wouldnt worry to much because the godot community is great

Its always good to seed people who are getting in to computer programing but i don’t think you’re ready to make a horror game just yet but don’t let me discourage you, if you think you’re ready then do it! Just I would start with a clicker game to get the main concept of programming before attempting to make a horror game. Also make sure your parents are ok with you making a horror game too. (No hate btw, and yes i know i’m a little late to the thread)
