how can i edit the audio effects to access an audio buffer (in order to make generative sound, a synth)

I am experimenting with generating audio, so far i can only fill up a sample and play this sample.

I’d like to be able to feed the audio buffer similar to an old java project i made (i found a tone generator that had the code for feeding the audio buffer, i only really had to modify it to my own ends)

-I’m trying to figure out what I’ll need to do… can i code this in GDNative or do I need to recompile Godot in order to change any of the effects?

-Is there any way of accessing this buffer I have missed?

Thanks, Richard
