How can I make units march in formation

I am making a RTS style wargame but I cannot make the units march in formation. using direction to and it works for single units, but when put in action with other units it fails me!

You’re referring to early Unreal Samples. Even when Unreal was Unreal2D.
You need to essentially build an array_mesh with a mouse drag. And, distribute the units inside the mesh with an array_arrange function. So they all fit in the array_mesh.
