How do I treat notifications such as pre-delete as signals?

How do I treat notifications such as pre-delete as signals? The only way I know is to override the _notification function, emit a signal and inherit from a base class. This seems too difficult if you want to apply this to any object because you have to change the inheritance of every object.

If this isn’t possible, what is the alternative?

It’s not possible. The alternative is to implement _notification() in the objects you need.
