There is saying that most games don’t succed, but i think that’s not true, **most games aren’t even finished!
**
That’s why i wanted to ask you to take part in this small research, how often do you abbandon your games
PS: the technical answer is games abbandoned because you don’t have knowledge to technically finish it, or maybe something more important than game dev or even realizing that game was boring and not worth working on
Very rarely, almost never
Rarely (More finished projects than abbandoned)
Occasionally (± every 3 or so projects)
Often (Most of my projects are abbandoned)
Always - seems bad ngl :\
Due to technical reasons (explained above)

Btw i want to make my posts better formatted, do you think formatting is good or not? sorry i add this here but that’s additional question
I abandon a lot of projects because I try to prototype every single idea I get. I have like 5 Big indie games, 20 small games in my workspace folder awaiting to be completed.
It’s very broad but game is usually way bigger or have gameplay loop to begin with, while project might be tool, learning ect. tho i added technical reasons for these kind of scenarios where you abbandon projects or games due to purely technical, design or other reasons
Dude solving game development challenges is a dope hobby all by itself. You learn computer science, you learn to write better code, you learn problem solving skills. And you learn specific game development skills that may come in handy if you do decide to follow through with a game at some point. I love just solving the puzzles. But to answer your question I have been working on my big fat ass dream game for about ~2 years and I don’t seem to have any desire to stop working on it.
