I am creating a game where the goal is to click on moving items on the screen. I want there to be a point multiplier that increases each time you successfully click on an item within a time window and is reset when you click on nothing. The problem is that I know how to check if I click on an item I just don’t know how to check if I click on nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

Depends on your items, if these are control nodes, you can use _unhandled_input to capture unused click events.

If these are collision objects, you can use unhandled_input on mouse up and check a variable that registers a valid click (since up will happen after down), this can be used for the other case too.
