Question
Apologies if this is something obvious - I am new to hosting things online!
I have a simple game exported to HTML, and used a free website hosting site to host the game online (InfinityFree, on their free plan). When accessing it, it opens to the initial Godot Engine loading screen (even complaining about not having a SSL Certificate until I sorted that out, and throwing a “Failed to Fetch” when I needed to change some file names), but the loading bar just… doesn’t move and the game does not load (or at least moves so slowly I didn’t notice any progress after 30 mins).
The game works perfectly(ish) when on a local server (via XAMPP Apache) so I can’t work out what about hosting it online makes it not work.
Any ideas what’s happening here and how (or if) I can fix it? Many thanks!
