New here but I think if all replies were nested under the original message they’re replying to, a new sub chain that would be nice. Currently it seems replies go into the main thread but also a sub-reply thread? I’d just double down on one of those, not both.. and I’d lean toward nested replies personally. Think reedit or something. Cheers!
This forum runs on Discourse. So, how it is is “by design”.

the old qa forum had inline replies, i’m not sure why they decided to switch to format without those
