I just had what is basically a shower thought so don’t see too deep into this post or anything just kinda a thought that came to me. On this forum posts get buried pretty quickly, so do we only really notice the Godot community from our continent etc. or is it very mixed. Super stupid question but just kinda came to me lol. Does this make sense?!?
Well, all you have to do is scroll down for 5 seconds to find older posts. Not to sound snarky.
I live in the EST time zone, but I’m also up at night. So I notice that the activity on the forum decreases at night in America at least.
Yeah, kinda I guess but I normally still end up with just people I see on the forum everywhere. I’m Europe and at least for me it’s hard to tell if there is some kind of separation or not. I presume no but I called the thread stupid for a reason.
I guess it also only a few people actually respond? Like, i always reconize the same ten people, since im (albiet guiltily admitted) am always posting/asking for help. So maybe its just that?
Yeah fair enough. I don’t know who you see but I also only see the same few people respond but that’s kinda what made me get the idea. For all I know they could all have similar time zones and in other time zones it’s 10 completely different people.
Those few people are known as the forum regulars.
They’re people who are more dedicated to participating in the forum than most people. I, myself, am one of them.
Edit:
The closest thing to “another world” for Godot would be if you went on r/Godot on Reddit.
Yeah I did think about that at some point, I’m in CEST / GTM+1 and I do notice a lot of things happen during the night for me ![]()
Tho like @Demetrius_Dixon said, there is not too many of us here anyways
Forums and other “web2” style communities are a small world, these days
Yeah fair
There is also https://godotforums.org/ which is less crowded.
Yeah this is totally a thing. Only I think we are mostly seeing the some-hours-old topics from the people that already went to bed by the time you are online ![]()
