KAOSHIVE - third person adventure

Hello everyone!

Hi! Hi! Hi! Richard here, I am a traditional and digital artist working on Kaoshive.

The intention is to bring a graphic novel into playable form but letting the player explore the world as they please.

Primary focus is on the third person controller, art direction and world building,
while making it run and look good on potato laptops too.

I have started this as a pixel art game, then 2.5D, then gave up, then recklessly ventured into 3D… Very happy about the decision, I am driving my passion and intentions into it in my limited free time.

Gameplay-wise ( if I had a hundred million bucks):
I wish Elden Ring had Kenshi integrated into it with flashy stuff like the cool aspects of the combat in Black Desert.
Indeed, I love Dark Souls but “there is nothing to do but the killing”.

I intend to make my original characters come alive in the story I came up with and …I’ll see how it goes.

Using Godot, Blender, GNU/imp, Krita…
Zero “ai”, everything hand-drawn first.

got a video of the current alpha:

Going to post here about my Godot-related findings and progress.

First one is: I think I have managed to make an inventory easily ccontrollable by both k+m and/or gamepad. I intend to somewhat copy the inventory system of Elden Ring.

I have used this as a basis, which I suspect to be ai generated

Hello! This project is so cool

Thank you very much! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
I will eventually upload more art and stuff about my progress here.

(Meanwhile I have to renovate a badly built little house on the budget, so I am definitely not full-time devving it but it certainly is inching ahead.)
