Looking for general advice on isometric view

Hi everyone!

I recently got interested in the GoDot engine and I am looking for help on how to organize a project for an isometric view point and click mini-game.

There is no character/camera movement involved, I am just playing around with a static background and some minor character animations. Is it recommended for this minimal setup to pick TileMaps for building the “background” or should I just stick with static prebuilt images?

Any help would be appreciated!
