I have finished course for 3D RPG on GameDev , I feel like to make game with free assets or pay a bit for it as - to make all in scratch in Blender is very timely task .
So KayKit low poly Adventure and Adventure pack are excellent . ( Something I would like to discover how to make strike from sword , some fireballs , ice bolts , some healing effects as I haven’t seen those included )
Only part which is covered in course is GPUParticle to make dash effects around feet’s ,
Since 4.5 is considerably performs better over 4.2.2 ( originally used in GameDev course ) Godot ( on Mac Apple Silicone ) there is some difference and missing links to make it looks solid such as sound , menu , saving progress , procedural generating terrain .
What assets would you recommend to keep consistent look of game and well combine with KayKit assets or low poly look and have magic of classic RPG as Zelda / Warcraft .

Just having this progress for now , have used Nature Pack, KayKit Adventure models, and Medieval hex package scaled .
Some suggestions what to use for UI ?

Wow, that looks really great!
Itch is down right now or I’d look up some things I like. I was wondering where you got those great buildings, and then I realized you scaled up the hex pack and they look great! Buildings for a town is the one thing I felt like KayKit models were missing, but they’re not! KayKit has a bundle of other packs I recommend because a lot of them are useful. Including the restaurant pack which has a lot of food items which can be used even in a fantasy setting.
For UI there are a number on Itch, but TBH you can do a lot just with customization of controls. I recommend you start there. Also Craftpix.net has lots of good stuff, though the only free GUI I could find was this one: Free Basic Pixel Art UI for RPG - CraftPix.net
Le Lu has a lot of great VFX tutorials for Godot, including this one for healing:
He also has a Patreon where you can get more effects. And he also has a fireball and fire sword tutorials.
I also have a ton of ice materials on my itch page which I believe I ended up making free so you can grab those and see a bunch of examples of VFX and things you can do with materials. (My itch page is in my bio here.)

I saw KayKit makes also Patreon and taking custom order, so I thought to order some once I do vertical slice .
Currently I’m stuck at Dialogic 2 doesn’t work on Godot 4.5 stable or 4.5.1 stable as it immediately crash it on activation .
The thing is 4.5 have some nice GPU upgrades for Mac Silicone , but without Questing RPG is very pointless .
4.4.1 —
Yes, I recommend KayKit’s Patreon. He releases a new model every month when you’re a member. This months it was:
Check out Dialogue Manager by Nathan Hoad. I find it a little easier to use than Dialogic. I think Dialogic is meant more for visual novels. But Nathan has a lot of great tutorial videos linked on the GitHub site and good documentation.
Where did you get the fox and the bear models? I haven’t found any good animal models anywhere.

when you try open it in Blender is quite chaotic but as placeholder in prototyping it works .

I trying to achieve in final result style of questing like in WoW with floating window and options attached to same window for accept, refuse and overview of reward .
That is ambitious for a solo dev, but good luck, I hope it goes well.
Bear in mind WOW has a team of 500 or so. That is a lot of talented and specialised people (and probably some junior and admin types too of course) and yes, they raise the bar for everyone, but sometimes building something with a lower bar can be just as good in terms of player experience.
However, can’t wait to see some of your prototypes or demos. Good luck! I hope it all goes well.
PS Godot can handle that type of UI quite easily IMHO (even though it contains a lot of complexity).

Yeah I downloaded the .gltf versions and tried out the fox. My game crashed in 4.6.dev1 trying to play one of the animations. One of the problems you will encounter with the animations is they are made to move the character in space which is not the way Godot works out of the box. Still very cool. And you could edit the animations in Blender.
At first I was like, that looks just like WoW! Then I realized it was a screenshot from WoW.
But as @pauldrewett said, that kind of interface is actually pretty easy to accomplish in Godot. Making it pretty is harder than making it functional.
I really like this Gems and Wood Fantasy GUI and Buttons Kit by nulllgames, but they only provide .psd files, so it was a LOT of work to export each thing I wanted to use in a UI.

Just watched this video on the topic and definitely it looks like can be easily made but the options available is really complex
current thing I’m trying to achieve is drawn here
I thought about storing quest as unique resource with simple ID and then just access it via NPC so it can be easily tracked via multiple windows , npc, and also not repeatable .
Back of the day when WoW leaked , those emulators were using SQL to store all movements of NPC , their look, quests etc. so if it worked for this massive game it could be good approach for my small project , which I identify the quest’s be one of the core functions along with player movement, and exploration .
