Multiple projects, same resources

Godot Version

Question

Is there a problem with having multiple projects within the same project folder directory structure?

I am running low on drive space and have decided to build game modules as seperate projects to decrease load times, i found out from a web search that Godots assets and scenes can be shared with operating system symbolic links (is this true? are these shortcuts?) . I also read that using Git can make the configuration manageable but i cant see how this would make load times easier or more stable for an eventual merge.

This sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen. Go buy an external hard drive.

I got one and its full, so moving stuff over to magnetic drives for swap space. Im always moving and deleting the same type of resources, even had to move my tertiary backup of the projects folder.

The project is 65 GB and not even in a very mature phase, i can imagine 150-200GB easily before its finished, especially if i have duplicate resources everywhere.

To put that into perspective, its a 500GB SSD with an additional 500GB USB SSD, and a couple of TB spare on magnetic drives.

You can get a 128TB external hard drive for $30-50 online. Not sure where you’re located, but might be time for a new one.

These are magnetic drives?

No idea. It was a 30 second google search. But my guess is SSDs.

128TB for that prices has to be good old magnetic HD.

No?

Edit: I bet those were listings for 512 gigs up to the 128 TB SSDs with the cheaper interfaces, the price listed being for .5 to 2TB for “cheap" SSDs

I mean an nvme 4TB SSD can set you back 600 Can or more, as example :

Well I was wrong. But it’s been about 5 years since I bought one and I got an 8TB external drive from Best Buy for like $40.

What about these? Are they even legit? The listing says 4TB for just 23.99 GBP

My 500GB portable drive was very high quality, more expensive and built for speed and recording video, i wonder if these ones will somehow forget after 6 months …
