It’s been a while since my last post about this project (I really underestimated how cumbersome and slow bureaucracy is..), but now I can finally announce the upcoming release of my first game:
I got the idea for this originally from playing "Scavenger SV-4”, a very cool sci-fi game where you use a rover to scoop up the remains of an ancient alien civilization on an exoplanet. In that game, all the alien objects you find will be automatically analyzed by a computer, but I was wondering how a real laboratory would handle matter of unknown origin.
So I spent a lot of time looking up various laboratory instruments and procedures, watching videos made by manufacturers and universities. I then put the things I’ve found interesting into the game.
I don’t know if I did a good job with this - I hope that I found a good balance between making things interesting and detailed, but still approachable and easy to understand in terms of gameplay.
This whole thing certainly was a journey - Thanks for all the responses I got when I was posting development updates for this project, this really is a very helpful and friendly community and I’m glad I joined this forum ![]()
