Navigation cost

I’ve got a navigation area with no frills :slight_smile:

I want to add the notion of a path (or road) not like path in get_next_position
The idea is to make an area where the character moves faster, or prefers to goto rather than walking through mud etc.

I saw older posts but they didn’t have any solutions so I though by now someone came up with something.

The methods etc. in the nav area seems to elude that it’s possible but I can’t figure it out from documentation.

My alternative plan is to use area2D and update velocity when over an area(and use get next position) to evaluate pathing. but it seems like heavy of over coding if it’s already built in!
