Need help configuring VS Code to work with GDScript

Trying to set up VS Code to work with GDScript. I followed a couple of different tutorial videos and it appears I have all the settings set up properly, but I’m having an issue

When I click a GDScript in Godot, VSCode runs, but it doesn’t open the script I clicked on - instead, it creates a new path c:\users\myname\documents\godot and adds a new file to that path called “godot” with no extension

I have checked the godot-tools extension settings - I have the path to the Godot 4 executable set.

I have the LSP server host and server port set the same in VSCode as in Godot

What could be causing this?
