Need help for what style of levels fit more

I havent been very active lately here but i have a question.

So im making a fast paced 2d top down horror precision platformer with combat elements here and there. And im asking for your feedback on which of these ideas fit more: a sorta linear level based game like pizza tower and celeste or a non linear metroidvania world.

Im asking cuz i want to make little encounters like fighting enemies that are ambushing you in a sorta small dark room or parkour sections that feel memorable and impactful that cant be accessed after beating them but i still want the metroidvania progression system and the feeling of being lost and not knowing where to go or how to get past certain obstacles only to later realize you can get past them by using the ability just unlocked.
