Need help with a script (im new)

Godot Version

4

Question

Hello! I wanted to create a game called WRLDBILDING where you play in a platformer and go and click to place blocks/stairs on a invisible grid, I need help with coding it and setting it up, It is a sandbox so the player does the worldbuilding. I do not wanna sound lazy, I just desperately need a working script and setup for it. Already have a itch.io page ready. Just need some code. I joined a week or two ago and am not familiar with any of Godot's supported languages. If anyone is willing to help, it'd mean the world to me. Thanks!

You are asking someone to make an entire game for you. You realize that, right?

If you don’t know how to code in Godot, I’d recommend this tutorial. It’s long, but afterwards you should have a pretty good understanding of Godot 4. Both the engine and code.

There’s also this tutorial that’s more recent, so it’s using a newer version of Godot 4, but I haven’t used it myself.

technically not. i already have a ost and art.

these are literally longer then the free time i have lol. how can one sit through 11 HOURS OF GDSCRIPT?? anyways ill watch the one by brackeys, im fimiliar with his stuff. i will dm you if i need further help. if anyone actually provides a script ill list him in the itch.io page

also if you want to help more u can add my dc its jaftcreate. thanks!

Yeah. Learning to code well is a sacrifice. Just like any skill you really got to take the time. But also, you don’t do all eleven hours in one sitting. When I did it I only did 30-60 minutes each day.

but i have my arch nemesis, S C H O O L. lol also that 11 hour tutor would be hilarious as a meme

will prob watch this much shorter tutor Brackeys’s tutorial

also i am new and have no idea how dis works

Follow the link @Frozen_Fried posted. It takes an hour or so.

It would take a lot of scripts to make this. . . I could scarcely take enough time off to make it sadly,
but i recommend doing the studying of GDScript, 11 hours isnt too much if you split it by 11, an hour a day should do wonders.
Even if someone were to give you the scripts—if you cannot correct it, edit it, or build upon it, then there isnt much of a point, the best option would be to learn GDScript to at least some degree.

*Edit: and as @Frozen_Fried and @dragonforge-dev stated, the tutorial is a good idea to take.

thanks for bothering to try!

ok! thanks

But that’s not even its final form. Wait till it turns to W O R K.

I also got my S C H O O L, It can’t stop me from cooking games.

You say 11 hours is too much but expect some stranger online to put tens ot hundreds of hours of their own time coding for you, and only have to pay by mentioning them on your itch page?

Yes actually, if u pay me based on a daily rate from my past salary, I ain’t cheap :face_with_hand_over_mouth::face_with_hand_over_mouth::face_with_hand_over_mouth:
