Question
I’m making a game about the origin of life, using this paper ( Client Challenge ) as a sort of template. For this, I will need to make a variety of monomers which react with each other to make dimers, and the reaction rate will need to be modified by which dimers are in their presence. How should I approach that? Attached is basically what I’ve made so far, I’ve attached scripts, but they don’t say anything yet.
Your question is a bit too broad. Try to break/narrow it down to specific problems.
How are those monomers supposed to move, some kind of brownian motion?
So how I’m seeing it, you need to retrieve values from one node [monomer] to another? The answer changes depends on what “react with each other” means, what “in their presence” means too, as well as what the general scene would look like and the external inputs that would need to be used to make everything happen.
It’s good practice to assume we have no prior knowledge of what you’re talking about (ELI5) and break down what exactly you want to happen (the exact interactions and results). The hyper link pertains to the idea of what you want, but you’re in control of its presentation. I’ll read whatever you take the time to explain yourself because it’s all relevant in some capacity, which is unlike the scientific paper; a paper which describes a 13 page concept that I would have to parse through to give you advice…
I think ultimately you need custom signals? Using a “SignalManager”/“EventBus” autoload script, you can emit and connect from them from entirely disconnected nodes all across your project to transport data across scripts. But depending on your conditions there’s other implementations too.
That’s about as much as I can suggest without knowing more
