Sound - max rate of AudioStreamSample affects pitch of the sound?

I don’t know much about audio but “max rate” I use in AudioStreamSample is not supposed to affect the sound’s pitch when it’s played in AudioStreamPlayer, is it?
If I set max rate to 22 000 it sounds correctly, but increasing this value to 44 000 increases the sound’s pitch proportionally. Eventually, this makes me test every single sound until I find the correct max rate for every sound I use in the game, otherwise its pitch is either too low or too high.

Solved by replacing all wav sounds with mp3.
