You can Ctrl-a to create a node, but then you have to go and find it to set the correct position.

Is there a way to Ctrl-t to teleport the node to the current mouse position? I’d like to improve my editing experience, so this shouldn’t be a gameplay feature.

I don’t see any teleport/move node in Editor > Editor Settings > Shortcuts, so maybe it doesn’t exist.

I guess I could write an editorplugin to do it?

In the 2D viewport, you can right click on a position and select Move Node(s) Here
Probably not currently possible without a plugin in the 3D viewport, other than the Ctrl+Alt+M shortcut (Align Transform with View), but that’s not really useful for anything other than cameras.
