Tile Map Editing

Question

`I am building a Tower Defense game for now and the tiles that I am using at the moment for the path have a grass edge which will need to be buildable.
Now I either try to edit the grass edge and make it smaller towards the edges so it won’t be that noticeable when I try to place a tower or is there a way to paint only that area somehow and split it for placement checking?

Any help is appreciated about this. I have come quite far and now I want to focus a bit on the look and audio for a bit so I have something substantial.
