I have two area2D objects with one to be a projectile and the other to be a player. I setup both to have collision boxes and connected the signals for area_entered. I had it so they print different outputs to the console but only the projectile is printing. Both are in the same layer and have the same mask for collision.

func _on_Player_area_entered(area):
print("Player Hit!")

func _on_Bullet_area_entered(area):
print("Bullet Hit!")

The output only says "Bullet Hit!" when I run it.

I tested the projectile’s ability to collide with other objects by giving the object generating the projectile a collision box and that object did detect the bullet. Only the player seems to have issues detecting collisions.

I’m new to Godot so if I left out any info that would be useful to solving this issue please mention it and I’ll add it.

It ended up being that I had two scenes called player and had instanced the other one rather than the one I was editing. Didn’t realize I had a duplicate scene.
