VehicleWheel3D wheels clip into objects.

How can i resolve this issue?

Godot version is Godot_v4.5.1-stable_win64
Both wheel and mesh have collision.

You have to provide more information than that – you always do. For example:

  • What does your scene tree look like?
  • Do you have any scripts on the VehicleWheel3D or any other nodes?
  • How is the cylinder configured?

There is simply no way of giving you a confident answer if you don’t provide the necessary context. Moreover, this particular class is described in the documentation as having “known issues” which further obfuscates the root of the issue.

Please provide more information.

  1. This is what my scene tree looks like.

  2. No, not on vehiclewheel3D. Only on VehicleBody3D.

  3. this is how cylinder is configured:

Okay. I don’t know what’s wrong, and I don’t have patience to figure it out at the moment. This is partly because I don’t believe in the utility of the VehicleBody3D and VehicleWheel3D classes.

I tried to create a minimal setup in Godot with these classes – 1 vehicle body and 4 wheels. With default values, the whole thing just vibrates and I don’t feel the need to learn this whole vehicle system when I’ve already made my own.

If you want to investigate your issue further, I would recommend validating:

  • The VehicleWheel3D is actually colliding with the cylinder, not just the ground
    • Check collision masks and layers.
  • The mesh is being positioned based on the data from the VehicleWheel3D
    • If this is not the case, use VehicleWheel3D’s get_contact_point() method to do it yourself.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Ok i will try. Thank you.
