Web platform not available (creating webassembly build)

I’ve been trying to follow Godot’s tutorial for compiling the engine to WebAssembly using Scons. For some reason, when I try to execute the Scons build command (scons platform=web target=template_release) within the source code root directory, I get this error:

ERROR: Invalid target platform “web”. The following platforms are available: windows. Please run SCons again and select a valid platform: platform=.

Why am I missing the web platform and how can I get it to finish compiling godot to webAssembly?

You need to set up the build environment, did you run emsdk correctly?

yep, that was it, I had to fix the emsdk path for scons to find it and run the web platform
