Question
Why do decal nodes compress whatever texture you put in them so much that it comes out a blocky mess?? I wanted to use decals for some basic texturing around green/overgrown parts of my map but
a) they appear black unless illuminated or using emission, and
b) whatever you put in the emission option gets so compressed it comes out as awful pixel art.
I tried setting the import settings but it seems to completely ignore them, no matter if I set it to VRAM compressed high quality or straight up lossless, it doesn’t change what shows up in the decal.
On another note, the decal you see just to the left is the same texture without emission, and as you can see it appears pure black despite the color you can see in the image texture, the only way to get it to just… not… was by putting a spot light above it (currently hidden) but that also illuminates the ground around the decal which I don’t want.
Does anyone know of a way to fix either of these issues?
