Your Worst Game/Mechanic Ideas

I’m new to Godot. I’m gonna make a 2D Frankenstein-mobile-game monstrosity of people’s WORST ideas, so if you want, drop your WORST, most CHAOTIC, UNHINGED game ideas or game mechanic ideas. Examples: a rhythm game where regular notes can suddenly change to hurt notes and vice versa for hurt notes, having to watch an ad to jump once, a level entirely depending on RNG to decide whether to be locked by a paywall every time a player tries to access it, coding an entire utility in Assembly just to unlock something small, etc

It’s a sim game, but there are no ways to interact with game elements except inspecting stats. It’s just a game mechanic you get to observe but not influence.

Every time you jump :kangaroo:, you lose health. But gain speed

Controls change randomly or every time you interact with the game.

hiting a enamy spawns 2 new enmys and you lose 10 coins

At irregular intervals it should send messages to people in your Contacts list - “Hey, Bob! The idiot is still stuck on Level 4, I told him to pick up the sword.”

Interactable parts of the screen are tiny and must be hit with perfect precision. Every time you touch any part of the screen that’s not interactable, you get an unskippable tutorial on the game controls. The tutorial treats you like an idiot and gets longer and more explicit each time you trigger it. Also, the game doesn’t pause while the tutorial is running.

Oh YESSS these game ideas are terrible but I’m not implementing any more, at least until the game is finished and I make an update

In game you HAVE to pay taxes every 24 hours otherwise its a game over.

While moving there’s just a 0.01% chance every second you just die. Thats it. Game of the year.

make the base control keybinds the most OBNOXIOUS thing ever but add settings that allow you to change keybind. then add an “apply” button to apply the keybinds, but once they click it, the game freezes for 3 seconds and crashes

And you can buy coins/gems/whatever with the diabolical practice known as “in-app purchases”.

What could possibly go wrong…?

Also have a theoretically infinite amount of currency types, procedurally generated. So there would be, say, red gems, blue gems, green gems, #04F369 gems etc. for every single hex colour.

Drunk walking simulator. With an intro cinematic that says: “See that mountain? You can climb it.”

Wait a minute the in-app purchases idea would be very fitting since I’m making this a mobile game

A rooms-like (so Roblox Doors, Pressure, etc.) that starts off as a walking simulator but slowly mechanics pile on the further you get (theres gonna be around 1000 rooms) until its 10 entities every room basically

its also gonna be random so it may or may not be impossible

arbitrary 3rd person/overhead camera movement where the only caveat is you have to see minimum 5% of your player :+1: it would probably make people sick

AI-generated rooms. You answer a question, then the room beyond is generated by the AI’s interpretation of it
