If the RPG maker forum is just as nice as the godot forum then this is one of the biggest comneti losts of all time! : (
Is ther a way i can help?
I am not a web/forum Dev i just finished my first game a while ago.
Wich you can check out her if you want to get an idea of my scills.
@SpaghettiCoder and anyone else who can help;
I want to thank Dragonforge Dev. Per his advice, it seemed pertinent to ask this question here.
This is a question from the team. We are trying to figure out the best way to format the Godot section so that it has relevant sections for users of the engine to find resources, tutorials, and get help.
What board and sections would you like to see and would be useful to you and other Godot developers to use?
There are a bit of unknowns when it comes to godot for us and we just want to ensure that we can scaffold it correctly. But basically, we need to know if there are any particular asset standards that would necessitate having specific resource sections, or can we pick and choose it from the general asset sections. Same for any sort of add-ons (plug-ins, whatever they call them here). Would they even like to see these featured, or do they have somewhere else they get this type of stuff?
Also, what kind of tagging categories would help sort through threads, assets, etc.
Things like Godot help, Godot showcase, Godot general, Godot Announcements and Godot showcase?
For Godot resources, I’m unsure because most standard files, like PNG, WAV, and other standard formats, work fine in most engines (Godot includet).
And do we nead Godot showcase?
I am unshure about this.
Godot already has an asset store, so I don’t think there’s much need for one.
There are educational demos from the engine’s developers.
But what’s missing is a good collection of large alternative demo projects, like this one.
But if your forum uses a ribbon design (like this one), then all the threads will, of course, get lost.
Here’s another topic that might be of interest for a forum like this: porting games from RPG Maker to Godot.
I’m sad… You know? I’ll miss it forever.
I would feel the sameif i lose the godot comunety. : (
But hey you guys get a new forum!
With new people.
And no one will shut it down!
Sorry everyone for my absence! It’s been crazy the past few days.
I just wanted to report that we have officially launched the new site! There is a dedicated section for Godot for members who wish to participate there too!
We really had a lot of great help and support over the past month and a half since GGG announced the closure of the official forums.
I just want to mention that by far the Godot community here as been the most active and supportive. I reached out to a number of game engine communities for support. Everyone has been kind but I think Godot is the only one where I had multiple members offer to provide tutorials as well as donations for the new site!
Over that month and a half span, we also were covered by a French gaming magazine (the issue will be printed in September!), a few gaming news outlets also covered the situation (poorly, imo), and a news caster also interviewed us.
We hope you will join! We have upcoming events planned. All the mods are exhausted, so I think the plan is to start off with a light little mapping challenge. Maybe later in fall we will do a game jam (I’m hoping to convince the mods to make it a ‘try a new engine’ game jam since we are trying to encourage different engine users to mingle and learn from each other! Maybe you Godot folks can drag the RPG Maker users over to the dark side!)
Nonetheless, I just want to thank everyone again and I hope to see some of y’all there!
If you have any questions, you can DM me here or at RPG Refuge, or use RPG Refuge’s site feedback section.
We might have some RPG Maker people in my community as well - I honestly don’t know. I made an announcement, but it’s pretty sparse - I was a Neverwinter Nights builder and never part of the RPG Maker scene. You’re welcome to drop by and fill people in on what I missed.
Best of luck getting the new place going.

Did you create modules for NWN? It was a great feature in the game and was very popular — modules were still being created long after the game was released.
Yes, but only one - I ran my own persistent world “Quests of Quien”. Then NWN2 came out, it was a dumpster fire, and that kind of ended my NWN days. After that I got into engine development so I could bring the world to life exactly how I wanted.
UNTY is the dark side godot is the light side. ![]()
Hey! Thanks so much! I’m pretty busy today, but when I have a chance I’ll sign up for your website and add some extra details to the announcement.
This appears to be a problem with the embedded link on the Godot forums.
I’ll try hyperlinking it: RPG Refuge
Or you can just type in rpg-refuge.com
I am now whating to get aproved by a modarator : )
