Question Quality System

I’m new to this forum, so take my take with a grain of salt:
I like the idea of a certain path of action for helpers to take, but not doing non-verbal gestures that can make them feel offended like a thumbs down.
Let’s take the neutral road on the people posting badly written questions and topics by having 2 steps:

  • You see a new post. Then, when the title looks bad, or content is poor, or there is clear use of LLMs doing things the poster doesn’t understand, simply reply with.

Your post needs work:
Posting guidelines in #Help channel

  • Then leave the topic until the situation has improved. If they still don’t adhere, post the reply again. So to then, you only seriously reply to new topic (that have 0 answers) and ask proper-ish written questions, or older topics that have replied to you with a properly written question.

I’ve been a long time CachyOS (a popular Linux distro) forum helper and I got burned out from people asking a bunch of things and then posting the LLMs answers in the post reply to document their “learning process”.
This is what I would do if I were to go back in that forum.

@OleNic and @renevanderark thanks, that’s been my plan. I’ve been pulling back on my daily reading and contributing, trying to find a balance, but removing myself entirely may be the balance I need.

I have been trying this with various permutations. What happens then is I watch someone new to the forum try to be helpful and start a question and answer train that results in both of them being frustrated, and my reply at the top being ignored.

It is sad what LMM,s and LLM,s made with the world. :sob:

But i will not stop to use this forum because AI sucs.

For me this Forum is an nice interesting place i lerned so much from reading here.

And all of my Qustions i have asked on this Forum got super great answers.

And one day if i got better in gamedev i will help other people.

PS: Sory if my gramar is bad. (engish is not my native Language)
