Hey!
I was wondering why Godot is called Godot(very good question…), and what I found is pretty cool.
After digging around (first Reddit and a forum topic, then Wiki), I learned that the name comes from Samuel Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot.
Apparently, the engine went through several names over the years: Legacy, NG3D, Larvita, and finally Godot!
Here’s the wiki quote:
Over the course of the following ten years, the engine was renamed to “Legacy”, “NG3D”, “Larvita” and finally to “Godot”. The name “Godot” was chosen in reference to Samuel Beckett’s play Waiting for Godot, as it represents the never-ending wish of adding new features in the engine, which would get it closer to an exhaustive product, even though it never would
Imagine saying:
“How do I make an interactive tilemap in NG3D?”
Wait,I found more names!
1.Larvotor

5.Larvita2
6.Larvita3
