Audio for godot no m4a?

I have been looking for a way to play m4a files in my front end. Though it seems in 4.3 it’s still wav, mp3 and ogg. I tried scouring for a m4a plug in and never found i t. Is there any leads on the m4a front?

I think the main reason is it is not a free codec.

m4a is a container, and it I’ll have aac or alac audio. Inside it.

Well shoot, guess I’ll shelf that api project then. Thank you for the heads up.

Supposedly AAC patents will expire in 2028. ALAC is already free.

I’m sure my cd ripping will have me sitting at a staggering number by then. I still need to get more bonjovi and zztop. Getting older albums is an astounding pain. My main focus on the backup of media and making my own music streamer from the home lab.

I had converted a couple of my songs to mp3 format while making the music player a month ago now for my father and my cousins kids, to keep them from ad/malware and telemetry gathering.

I will start a new project I have no idea on and see what I can accomplish, perhaps a image tagging system that doesn’t embed the tags in the file itself but saves it as a dictionary - array nesting.
