BELEK: a tryhard tactical FPS made in Godot, set in my hometown of Rouen

Hey Godot folks!

I’ve been lurking and answering a few questions here, and now it’s time to show what I’m actually working on: BELEK, a competitive FPS built in Godot 4.

The pitch: Counter-Strike-like tactical gameplay (round-based, high skill ceiling, no hand-holding) set in Rouen, France, my city. There’s a layer of irony and a bit of trolling in the presentation, but underneath it’s meant to be a genuinely tryhard shooter.

About me: cybersecurity is my actual job. Godot plus AI-assisted workflows let me do things I honestly didn’t think one person could do.

Where I need you: feedback, as much as you can throw at me. I’m especially curious about:

  • multiplayer architecture (authoritative server, lag compensation in Godot)
  • level streaming for city maps
  • weapon feel and hit registration

Help of any kind is welcome too.

Pricing: free to start, then 5 to 9 euros later on.

I’ll be watching this topic and answering replies.

There is no information about the game on the website. Aside from an intrusive advertisement that has nothing to do with the game, the site contains nothing else. (This is for anyone who wants to follow the link.) There isn’t a single screenshot in your post.

Not everyone has a LinkedIn account, and there’s no direct link to it.

Is this just spam?
