Can autotile create tile transitions similar to those seen in Heroes of Might and Magic 2/3?

In Heroes 3 for instance, there are automatic transitions for each terrain (grass, snow etc) with eachother (using a dirt border as the transition) and with water.

I can see here that Godot 3 autotile can automatically do borders for a tile, but can it do transitions based on different adjacent tile types in this way?
I.e. can it do this:

From what I found, it’s not currently possible in Godot, you would have to script a solution yourself
