I have a Mac book that runs 10.8.5 that I can not update. I was wondering if there is a version of godot I could run on it.

Godot 3.3.x requires macOS 10.9, so this is not possible. You either need to use the web editor, use an old Godot version like 2.1.6, or switch to Linux.
Keep in mind that Godot 2.1.6 is very different from what Godot is like now. Most recent tutorials won’t apply to it and many properties/methods have different names.
Thanks, I will try that.
