Does the Godot Game Engine force the use of Root Bones?

I make 3d characters all the time and almost never use root bones and so this is a thing im not so familiar with.

From what I’ve read, the root skeleton bone is optional. It is a good idea to use it in animation, though, as it’s written in the documentation: “[Root motion] allows animating characters in a way where steps actually match the floor below. It also allows precise interaction with objects during cinematics.”
