Disco Duck on Steam

Jane DeLuca, aka “Disco Duck,” was a normal human girl in 1977, going to discos and working at a beauty parlor in New York City.

Until one night, she is abducted by beings from Dimension Zed. Awakening aboard an inter-dimensional ship, she is greeted by a figure calling himself Master Hitchhog, and told, to survive, she must do everything he tells her to.

Now, thrust into a sick game of cat and mouse, Jane is found stalked by the Hogmen and company for sport, where all they want is to have their way with her

and nothing else.

And all Jane DeLuca wants is to go home.

The genre of this game is it’s a cat and mouse survival horror and maze runner. Its game mechanics involve being thrown into a procedurally generated claustrophobic maze, and outlasting intelligent and fast paced enemies, that are fresh on your heels set to kill you. Also, there is a parkour element that requires you to run for your life while circumnavigating the maze, with a double edged ability of dashing fast, that can help with evasions; although, can also have you dashing headfirst into walls if done incorrectly, which will knock you out for a short period of time and possibly seal your fate. You must activate markers, then activate the transmogrifiers, that continue to procedurally enhance the maze. Lasting 14 stages, all before the timer ticks 0. Making it to level 0 before the timer runs out and exiting the maze is the goal. Surviving is simply the challenge. When it comes to character progression, Jane will be able to find and use abilities such as invisibility and shields to help in her harrowing endeavors; although, she will lose them upon death.

Additionally when it comes to the game mode, there is a psychological and philosophical aspect to all this and its story, if you’re able to keep up. Te-he! The soundtrack is simply nuanced ambience.

The game runtime is roughly 3 to 4 hours long depending on skill.

This is a hard game, to put it simply.

With only one difficulty setting: “barely making it out of the maze with the skin of your teeth.”

Good luck!

J and L are abilities you obtain later in levels.

Also the levels take a minute to get used to, but once you understand the concept of how they’re placed, it comes naturally.

They’re supposed to be claustrophobic and a bit off to add tension.

Here’s a video of how the game is supposed to look at advanced play.

Will note, the camera zoom seems to be off since you’re not playing on Windows.
